Latent Runner is a hybrid film that rethinks the language of political counter-cinema through a posthuman lens. Filmed in Los Angeles and the Californian desert and drawing on films of the 1960s and 1970s such as Punishment Park, Medium Cool, and Zabriskie Point, the project develops, together with performers and activists, ceremonial rehearsals for collective forms of becoming.

Guided by the voice of the Watcher, a figure based on a science-fiction story by Claire G. Coleman, the film unfolds through the perspective of this speculative observer, who mediates between past and future. As a hybrid figure between witness, archive, and ancestor, the Watcher regards the landscapes, bodies, and technologies of the film as traces of a world in transformation. Conceiving of cinema as both an operative and ceremonial space, Latent Runner explores how the human is reconfigured through its entanglement with technological and ecological others.
